The 2018 EYH conference is designed for girls in grades 6-9. This year’s program features 23 different workshops on a wide variety of topics, including biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, geology, health science, physics, mathematics, and statistics. The conference will also include keynote talks, a physics demonstration, and lunch with JMU students. In addition, two workshops for adults will be offered. The conference is free, but advance registration for students and adults is required.
Online registration for EYH will open on Friday, February 23. Registration slots will be released on a staggered schedule starting at 7:00AM on Friday the 23rd. You can find the full registration schedule and more information about the registration process on the conference website. We expect the available slots to fill very quickly, so we encourage you to plan ahead for registration, including knowing your workshop preferences. You can find the descriptions of the student workshops on our website. Please also remember to check your calendar for conflicts before registering.
Tenth graders who have previously attended EYH can apply to be a High School Volunteer at this year’s conference. High School Volunteers will spend the day with our JMU undergraduate volunteers, assisting in the workshops and sharing their experiences in math, science, and EYH with the participants. More details about the volunteer program and the application form are available on our website.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this year's conference. We encourage parents and teachers to register to attend EYH with their students. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you know who might be interested in this conference, including your child's math and science teachers and other parents. We appreciate your help in spreading the word about EYH.
